Public Art Connected to People and Place
I make ambitious, creative, public-facing ideas work inside complex institutions.
Today, I lead the public art program at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, where I direct institutional art strategy and guide the largest investment in public art in the agency’s history - more than $23 million. I also lead values-aligned education grantmaking and strategy designed to cultivate environmental stewardship among young people.
I move comfortably between very different worlds - artists and engineers, creative practice and public institutions, big ideas and the realities of getting them built. I bring strategic thinking, creative judgment, curiosity, and relationship-building to ambitious ideas without a roadmap. Much of my work is translation: helping artists understand an institution and why its work matters, while helping institutions understand artists, their ideas, and what those ideas can make possible.
My professional philosophy is simple: make it work.
